In the first exhibition of TENT in Rotterdam, 1999, titled “Vullen/Voelen,” I created an installation featuring a hanging black structure with horizontal and vertical planes. This structure was surrounded by two wall-filling black-and-white photocopy images. The work focused on visibility and invisibility, the scale of the surrounding space, and the photographic image, without the object being a physical barrier for visitors. The intervention, with the horizontal plane at a height of 220 cm, guided the perception of space. The black mesh material of the structure obstructed the overall view of the photocopy images but not the view of the space itself.
