Restructuring of the grounds of the new Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA), plant division, in Wageningen, was done in collaboration with DS landscape architects. The old entrance zone was in the lowest part of the grounds, accessible only via a separate staircase and ramp. In the new design, the artwork “turning, looking, walking, again and again and again” defines the entrance zone. This 140-meter elevated landscape element leads visitors to the main entrance. Instead of an external structure, it forms an embankment. The road guiding visitors and staff to the parking lot is on this embankment, which also features a gentle staircase connecting the elevated main entrance to the square around which the buildings are grouped.
